Anoint in preparation
The face, the hands, the feet;
Put blood upon the lintels
In venues where you’ll meet.

Wait for the cloud of glory
To settle in its place;
Do not intrude unhallowed
on ground that’s sacred space.

Tie ropes around your ankles, 
Tie bells along your seams,
Tie Jesus to your faint heart
And see how he redeems.

Open your home and set him
An extra place at table,
In humble barn or temple,
In igloo, yurt or stable,

As long as nights are holy,
As long as hearts are giv’n
There will be healing payment
Restoring what’s been riven.
