from Matthew 5:13-16
YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD, says He.
Who me? says I. That cannot be.
So many gas bags flying around
bumping, colliding and bringing me down.
YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH, says He.
I’m avoiding all salt, for my heart, says me.
YOU ARE A LAMP, DON’T HIDE UNDER A BOWL.
LET YOUR LAMP GLOW AND BE SEEN BY ALL.
This little light of mine has gone dim.
AS LONG AS YOU’RE ONE, THIS IS TRUE, MY FRIEND.
FIND THE OTHER TRUE LIGHTS AND STAND TOGETHER.
FLY HIGH IN THE SKY NO MATTER THE WEATHER.
COME RAIN OR SNOW OR DARK OF NIGHT
THE DARKNESS WILL NEVER DIMINISH YOUR LIGHT.
IT’S YOUR DEEDS, NOT YOUR WORDS THAT THE WORLD WILL SEE,
AND WHEN YOU ARE FAITHFUL YOU GLORIFY ME.
You are the light of the world, says I.
I can only reflect, like the moon in the sky.
SO, TAKE YOUR PLACE AND REFLECT ME.
BE A BRIGHT BALL OF LIGHT THAT THE WORLD CAN SEE.
