He’s a sweet Hawaiian cracker
Filled with gooey pineapple jam,
Nestled with his cracker fellows,
As happy as an island clam.
His future is to be nibbled,
He's tasty and so delicious;
But don't tell your mom or your dad--
He's not so very nutritious.
Just savor your sugary treat
With a crunch, a nibble, a nosh.
I bet you can't stop with one, so
You'll finish his whole entourage.

In February,’ lifetime ago, or so it seems, my family took a vacation together to Hawaii. Dave and I thought it was just the first of many trips that he and I would be enjoying this spring. Oh, how the world has changed since then! We go nowhere now; I didn’t put gas in my car for over four months. But I can still savor those sweet memories by writing one more mele (song or poem in Hawaiian) for my keikes (little ones).
Simple pleasures are still important. I hope that you can find some today.
